When calorie counting and having about 80-90 pounds to lose to you eat your "exercise calories"??? I'm at the point of not even going to log them in so that MFP doesn't add them to the day (I see them in there and think I need to eat every last calorie)...so do you or don't you eat those calories???

I log them after dinner. Besides MFP has me at like 1340 calories a day and BL I should be at about 1575 so I try and bounce between those and so far so good.0

Personally, I do not eat my exercise calories. You are supposed to burn more than you eat. If I happen to go over a little, I don't freak out, I just try not to do it again.0

That's a great idea - to log them in after dinner, never thought about that. Thank you !0 -

WOW!!!!! you are right there are a ton of topics on this - thank you0 -
If I had that much weight to lose, I would probably eat part of them if I felt hungry but not stress too much over it. I *would* be careful to not net too low at the end of the day, though. It would depend on where MFP set my calorie goal.
Since I don't have that much weight to lose and am already in a healthy BMI range, I eat most of my exercise calories and sometimes all of them. I also occasionally have days where I intentionally eat more than maintenance, like once every week or two, to balance out from the days that I go farther under than usual.0 -
I do.....and at one point was exercising just to have more to eat!!! When I was at 1200 calories a day....you bet your bottom dollar I was eating them!!!
I am now doing 1700 calories...and don't eat them as much!!!
guess just like everything else...Its a personal choice!!0 -
I have days I eat them and days I don't. It depends. If I'm super hungry even after hitting my calorie goal, I'll use them to have a snack. If I'm not hungry, I don't eat them. I kind of use them as a way to go over on those days I can't control my cravings.0

If your MFP calorie goal happens to be set at 1,200, you probably ARE burning more than you eat just by being alive. If you do intense workouts on top of that you may be burning way more than you eat and eating way less than your body needs if you don't eat at least some of those exercise calories back. Personally I don't log every step I take or normal activity like cooking or cleaning as exercise that gets added into my food diary for extra calories....I only log intentional exercise, or extra long walks at a fast pace.0 -
I don't during the week (I might eat 100-200 calories of it, if i have a really good work out and I'm really hungry). I do eat them during the weekends. That's my way of "splurging."0
