Any of you out there had success losing weight with Weight Watchers? How long did it take ? Were you only on a diet or did you exercise also?

I tried it for 3 months. Found MFP and quit WW. I didnt like going to the meetings or trying to figure out points.0

I did it twice, the first time it worked well, I exercised along with the food element. But soon as I stopped it all came back on. I just found it so complicated with the points, you have to have the calculator on you to figure he points out. The second time I tried it it worked somewhat, about 15 lbs then it stopped, they switched to that points plus and that didn't work for me at all. I wasn't losing anything.
For some people it's great, for me I'd rather use this site and the MFP app for free. The weight is coming off at about he same rate (1-1.5 lbs per week)0 -
every time I lose weight, I gain it back.0

I guess what I mean is that for me, when I reached my goal it was harder with the whole points system to keep a general running tab in my head if I didn't want to track, i'd have to pull out my phone or the little calculator you can get and work it out.
Like anything though, it's a life change, soon as you go back to old habits the weight comes back.
I just also found it expensive. I quit WW and spent that money on a gym membership instead.0 -
I did WW in 2005 and lost around 35 lbs and met lifetime. After WW I got very serious into bodybuilding again (lifting on and off for 30 years) and ate higher protein/lower carbs. I went way under my original goal at one time all on my own by eating very healthy without too many additives in the foods I eat. Since I am at lifetime still I went back last week for my free booklets and free e-tools. I think WW is awesome and I have had great success. However, I like to see and log all my nutrients to make sure I am eating enough to fuel my body for all the lifting and running I do here on MFP. The biggest thing WW helps me with now is being aware that I CAN have a few treats now and then and it taught me how to be more moderate in my approach- not so black and white in my decisions. Another thing is they teach you many valuable lessons about everyday life and challenging food situations. I love WW and think it is a fabulous program but ultimately you are your own gatekeeper of your health It took about 5 months to lose 35 lbs and yes I did exercise back then about 3x per week doing couch to 5K program. I wish you the best.0
