Bones/Cold

So, I am loving my new lifestyle ever since beginning my quest to lose weight and use this site. However...the other day while taking a long bath after one of my races, I went to lie down in the tub and found it hard to get comfortable because my shoulder blades or spine were constantly sticking out...or at least, they felt like they were.
After, I looked in the mirror, and I realized that my hip bones, rib cage, collar bone, spine, and shoulder blades are actually visible since they are no longer covered up by a lot of fat. I've also begun to realize that I get colder, a LOT more easily than I used to. Most of the weight I tend to keep, or occasionally gain back for a short time after a holiday meal or special occasion, tends to be in my stomach. It's the hardest area for me to lose.
Anyone else have similar experiences to these? It kind of creeped me out the moment I looked in the mirror!

I know this issue.
When I was fat, my lard functioned as insulation like blubber on a whale.
Since losing 64 lbs, either mother earth cooled or my tolerance for the colder weather is depressed.
But I don't miss the fat - no way!0 -
Yes . . I definitely get colder a LOT quicker than I used to. Or maybe I'm just turning into a wimp after moving
from North Dakota to the Carolinas. I am spoiled by our nice weather. LOL
The thing I've really noticed is how much more visible my rib cage is as well as my hips. It's quite amazing to
think how many layers of fat they were covered by in the past. Well, no more!!!0 -
Yes, I had a hard time leaning on hard surfaces for a while--seemed like my back got sore where my spine would rub? I've grown used to it though--so I don't notice it anymore...and I do get cold easier.0

I think I might...or it's my apartment one or the other! My room is always toasty but I have to throw on a substantial sweater if I'm studying or eating at the kitchen table... I have the problem with bones sticking out :P although not 100% yet... I find it with my butt when I sit... it feels like the bones are rubbing on the surface I'm sitting on...and today I was lying on the floor on my side trying to retrieve something from underneath my bed and my hip felt like it was crushed into the floor... I keep forgetting I don't have padding there anymore!! I also have a problem at night ... I can't let my legs be directly together or my knees rub together and I bruise...no more padding in that area either... I sleep with a blanket between my legs! Or have to position them so that the knees aren't touching - sort of a pain! lol0

I think sitting in the tub was the worst....it actually hurt my butt! I did get used to it. Those folding metal chairs though....still can't get used to those feeling like they are cutting into my spine and freezing my butt.I also have a problem at night ... Me too! My legs would also fall "asleep" and wake me up with pins and needles. I found one of those "neck bone" kind of triangular pillows and put that just above my knees while sleeping. No more bruises or pins and needles.
It is all worth it though!!0 -
LOL, it's mid winter up here in Wisconsin now and I hate it.
I've never been a huge fan of cold weather, but it really goes right through me now.
I was thinking earlier this evening about looking into those gloves football receivers wear for grip, just to keep my hands warm in my house at night LOL. I find myself always wearing heavy sweats in layers in the house now, but my hands are always cold yet.0 -
I work around walk in frezzers that get down to -15 all year around. Its more noticable minus the 60 lbs, Just eep in mind the temporary heat lose is just more cal burning. (you just dont want blue lips) Once you embrace it like the pain of lifting its easy. Just a new sensation is all.0

I have felt the bone issue also. I cannot lay on my side comfortably anymore because my hip bone actually sticks out. It is a nice feeling to feel my bones but still a pain in the butt when I love laying on my side to sleep and can't anymore HA0
