I've had two c-sections. Ever since, even when all the other parts of me have slimmed down, and I've attacked my abs like crazy, the low down 'pouch' of super squishiness in my belly has never been even close to gone.

I spoke with a trainer and she straight up said that a lot of the time after a c-section cuts through your abs, you'll just never get that area completely back through exercise: that the nerves and bloodflow are chopped up and messed up permanently. But...

I still keep trying. Am I crazy? Or do any of you have success stories? And can you share HOW you acheived it, if you did?

I've had 4 kids. My last one was a C-section. After the first three I bounced right back. It was a bit more difficult with my last (not because of the C-section, I had some emotional issues). I have noticed my stomach isn't as flat as it used to be. I am also working on it as well. I'm hoping to lost another 15-20#. I'll let you know!!

I haven't had a c-section, but I have had multiple abdominal surgeries where the ab muscles were cut. Tubal Ligation in 1994, Laparoscopy to remove endometriosis in 2000 and again in August of this year, and Endometrial Ablation in 2006. My belly button is so scared up that it hurt like crazy to heal this last time because of the doctor having to cut through so much scar tissue. Plus I have multiple smaller scars on the lower abdominal area. I don't have my six pack back yet after just having surgery on August 31st, but it's getting there. Here are some current pics (excuse the fact that I didn't clean the bathroom mirror first) so you can see that even after cutting those muscles, you can recover and have a flat stomach. But it does take time!!! And the bigger your cuts, the longer it takes to heal. So, don't stress if you don't see results rapidly for that area, but keep up the great workouts and you'll get there.
