This sorta relates.. how long does it get you running by the last day? I never bought it, been training myself on my own.

I used to go a minute, walk, go a minute, I got up to 90 jogging, 30 resting, and going again for 10 times.

I decided for the first time to try just jogging and went 20 minutes easily. 2 days later I tried 30 and I could do it!

So if your asking me I say give it a try, I was amazed I could do it!

So how long does that program get you going for total? I thought it was 30 minutes, but I guess it's longer?
  • I skipped ahead a few times with my c25k to see if i could do it ( and could) but I still went back becasue I wanted to make sure I succeded. I also repeated a few weeks when I thought the next week was a bit of a challange. All in all I completed it in about 11 weeks and I was 195 when I finished and I could run the 3 miles in 48 minutes. Slow, but I could do it! At the end of it, I was glad I took my time. I was so proud of myself! Good luck!

Are you asking how many minutes you walk/jog for?? It's between 20-30 minutes a day. It is designed to have you jogging/running 3 miles in 30 minutes in 9 weeks, with a increase in jogging compared to running every week. It took e 48 minutes to run the 3 miles and I think it takes most people longer than the 30. The program is focused on the distance more than the time.

I was running the full 3.1 miles (and then some) by week 7, too. From there, I focused on increasing my distance a little more because my first race was 4.5 miles. So I made up my own similar plan for the next couple weeks, by running a mile, walking 5 minutes, repeating 4x on day one, running 15 minutes, walking 5, repeating 3x day two, then seeing how far I could run on day three. Sometimes after that, I started a 10k training plan.

I'd add just because it's happened to me that the rule of injury free running is either 10% increase in speed, or distance, per week... If you go further there is potential for injury. I learned this the hard way one night during beautiful weather when i doubled my distance and did my hip in for pretty much the season.

Thank you, I have no pedometer to tell me how far I run :( I want to get one but no money right now. I was just trying to figure the average time it takes someone.. I am up to 30 minlutes, but I feel I am going slow I'm betting it would take me 40+ to.
