Hi, I thought I would introduce myself and my issues to see if anyone else might have similar issues and some advice (or wants to work together in our unique set of restrictions). In 2007 I had my thyroid removed for thyroid cancer. I immediately put on 40 lbs, and have not felt right since then. In the last few months I have come to learn that my adrenal glands are completely exhausted to near failure, and my pituitary gland and hypothalmus are also not functioning correctly. Because of this, I am severely restricted in exercise or risk an adrenal crisis. About the only area that I can work on is my diet, so I'm trying to find a good balance/type of carbs, protein, fats and nutrients that will help my system to heal and allow me to lose a little weight to take some strain off of my heart. I am currently 5'3", 155 lbs, and would like to eventually see 125 lbs. I can do some mild stretching, but nothing strenuous, so I do some yoga as my body allows.

If you have any similar issues, even if for other reasons, I would love to hear from you and see how you are managing.

All the best,

Rene

No, not really ... I have an underactive thyroid but I'm on Synthroid and with little exceptions, live my life as before my diagnosis. I'm sorry it's hard for you.
