Marathon, 1/2 Marathon

I want to be able to run a 1/2 Marathon by summer...maybe a full 26.2 eventually.

Any advice or good resource recommendations for a training plan to build up to those goals?

I'm a biker/cyclist (Mountain Biker)...I hate to run, so this will be a mental challenge for me too.

    I ran my first (2nd and 3rd) half marathons this year.
    I used the beginning training plan on www.marathonrookie.com to train for the first and liked it pretty well. For the 2nd and 3rd I used the training plan in one of the summer (july/aug) edition of Runner's World. I loved that plan a lot!

    I hear a lot of people talk about how much they like Hal Higdon's plan so that might be another option for you.

    There are a 1000 plans floating around, most of them good. Runners World is the one I used for my half. Like most things consistency and giving yourself time to build to that point will prevent injury and frustration. Good luck!
