Do you do a splurge day?

I'm fresh from WW and with the extra weekly points, I would always have one day where I ate more, like to go out to dinner or to a party. It worked out over the week, and I've always lost weight. I guess I'm just scared to do that here because there's no weekly points or calories to pull from. Which is dumb of me. I know it's fine and evens out at the end of the week. I'm going to a holiday party tonight, and while I don't plan to pig out, I know I'll have a few drinks and appetizers and go over my daily calorie goal. I guess it'll just be hard to see it in black and white and have the diary fuss at me ;0)

    It doesn't actually fuss at you except that it posts that "what if every day was like today" thing. Just close your eyes!! LOL. You KNOW every day is not going to be a splurge day. Many people do better with that splurge. For me, MFP helps me keep it to one day instead of the weekend, etc.

    I did WW too, and MFP has everything I liked about it but with more support. The splurge thing is really the only thing it doesn't have that WW built in naturally. I did like that but I have been able to find ways to do that. I have noticed on several of my groups that often people lose better with some splurges (if it is controlled and moderate).

    Thanks Karen!! That makes me feel better. Yeah I was imagining it saying, if everyday is like today, you'll have a fat butt again in five weeks :wink: Even though I know I want. I just need to do it and then get over it.
  • I lost a lot of weight earlier this year when I limited splurges to only once a month. However, I didn't stick with my healthy eating, and put most of the weight back on. My plan now is to limit splurges to one Sat or Sun night with friends plus one hamburger (tons of calories, fat) per week. Hopefully it works!
