Some days I get the WORST foot cramps while working out.. I had it just for a bit yesterday while doing 'ball to the wall' squats and on Monday I had it so bad during kickbox that I had to stop.. it was in both feet and painful.. why does this happen? Anyone know? Or does anyone else get this??

I get them and HATE them.0

Your shoes could be the wrong fit for what you are doing or they are too broken in to where you need to get some new ones.0

I too am a foot cramp sufferer... I have heard many reasons for this - dehydration, low potassium, need to stretch... They usually hit me at night. Could be from the shoes I wore that day, not enough water, etc. Usually all I can do is walk them off, barefoot on a hard floor - the cool tiles in my house seem to help. I will get up and drink some water, maybe take an ibuprofen, and pace thru my house a couple times, massage the cramping area. Sometimes they are so painful my foot or leg will be sore to the touch the following day. I would love to hear other's remedies, foot/leg cramps are a plague I would love to be done with!0

I also get these but have low arches so I just presumed that this could be the reason.
Have you got low arches?0 -
I get the same thing! My feet cramp so bad that its like my toes curl. So painful.0

I get them sometimes as well. My father always used to make me drink pickle juice or salt water, because of sodium deficiency. It could also be a potassium deficiency. Try eating a banana before you work out or drinking some Gator-aid and see if that helps.0

Having your shoes tied too tight can also cause problems0

New shoes twice a year at least, if you workout a lot! Then load up on bananas. I used to wake up with the leg cramps. Since I used to not like bananas, I would take a potassium vitamin and it seemed to help. Also, keep up your hydration, it could be that too.0

i dont get them at night like I did when I was a kid.. it is literally in the middle of my workout. I will try the banana.. even though im not a huge banana fan hahaha.. or maybe i will just buy potassium pills!0

Not sure if my foot cramps were the same that you have, mine was plantar fasciitis. The best thing for me was to have a frozen 20oz bottle of water that I could roll over the bottom of my foot when it was cramping. Another good thing to use is a golf ball that you can roll your feet over.0

Nope.. mine is just once in a while when I work out.. not all of the time.. so I don't think I have that issue?0

Coconut water! Not juice or milk but the water! it's a great hydrator and loaded with potassium.0
