Christmas Trees are like tatoos......

I was thinking about it this morning. People get tatoos for many reasons. I personally do not have any but I think they are very interesting.
Most tatoos tell a story about the person they are on. Either a battle they fought, a happy time in their life, a loved one that is no longer here, etc.... The same thing for a Christmas tree...some ornaments have a story behind them and they are a symbol of our past and how we got to where we are.

Well, I have a very special ornament on my tree that is called the "Always, Remembered" ornament.
It has the year 2008 on it and it is a white seashell with a pearl in it. In gold lettering it says "every life leaves something beautiful behind."

This ornament is in memory of my mother who passed away at the age of 47 to cancer. Her smile lit up a room and her laughter filled the house....so this ornament hangs high on the tree in the very front and center!

We also have a barbie and ken bride and groom.....one of our first 5 ornaments. Of course there are the 3 baby's first Christmas ornaments too for each of our daughters.
I even have several ornaments on the tree that came from my childhood.....they were the ornaments that I hung on my parents tree each year until my first year in my own home.

Every year when we get the holiday decorations out my girls beg to hear the stories behind each ornament and its like re-playing our life journey together and how each tiny figure was a huge milestone in our lives and it brought all of us together for one more Christmas together.

What are some of your ornaments and what are the stories behind them?
