Anyone ever done this? We have a 4 bedroom house and only need two of them. I have plans to turn one of the basement rooms into my own workout room. If you have done something like this, any tips or suggestions? Thanks!

We did this to our 4th bedroom in our finished basement. Basically we just cleared everything out and mounted a TV/DVD on the wall that we use to do workouts such as Insanity, P90X, etc. We also have an elliptical, a set of free weights, and a weight bench. Nothing special, but it serves it's purpose!

This is pretty much what I am thinking. I am planning to get the carpet out of there though because I can not do workouts on carpet (I'm weird like that I guess!) I feel like I need my own space and this would be perfect for at-home workouts!

We just bought some wokout/yoga mats that we lay on the carpet when we need the padding. Otherwise, we just workout on the carpet. There's no pad under the carpet, and since it's in the basement, the floor is concrete underneath, so it's a good, firm surface.

We turned our basement into a work out room...but still needed it to look like a den/family room. We used the entertainment center for storing the work out DVD's and camoflauged the weights, etc behind the sofa...so we could easily pull them out for a work out, but the den didn't look like a gym either.

We just moved to a much smaller house and I have to use my master bedroom for my work out room. I stash equipment under the bed and in dresser drawers...its very convenient and again, the bedroom doesn't look like a gym.

Make it a priority and use your decorating creativity - you'll be great!

    Good luck!

Thanks! I'm super excited to get it done. I will post pictures (once I figure out how!) once I have it done. Props to you for being able to work out in your bedroom. For some reason, couches, beds, soft carpet..anything like that really wrecks my workout (I know, mind over matter) but I can't seem to get into it without the right atmosphere!
