Hi Mandy - nice to read your post. Whether you're 300, 200 or 150 - if you need to lose, it's all the same. We must do it to be healthier, happier and live longer to be with our family. We all seem to love food - probably all the wrong kinds, and in way too much quantity.
This MFP is wonderful. It will let you see others working their various programs, exercising, complaining, needing encouragement - it runs the gammit. We're all here for each other. Glad you've joined us.
One thing I found - my emotional tie to food. Pick the food you're emotionally tied to, and then work on that tie. Once you break it - it's a lot easier to let it go. Not TOTALLY easy - but a LOT easier once you recognize it for what it is.
We didn't eat like this when we were 5-6-7 years old ... we learned to eat this way, for various reasons. Eliminate that reason, and eliminate the tie that keeps us to it.
Think of all the reasons you WANT to lose weight - and it's a positive experience. Tell yourself the reasons you HAVE to lose weight - and it's all negative. Denial, depressed, frustrated, angry, rebellious. These come from the negative. When you WANT to do something - you find the positive reasons to live a healthy lifestyle - and you gain energy from that.
Good luck and I'll look forward to watching your progress.
Here's to the new "us"!
