Hmmm Feeling blue and sad, hit a plateau, been frusting not losing for weeks at a time..

Then you just feel like quitting, I have to say I have thought about it alot...:frown:

Just really unsure what im doing wrong i stay in my calories for each day, and nothing, I have heard 10-15 lb weight loss is hard but , its frusting planning and planning and nothing. I spend at least in total 1:1/2 hours a day adjusting and planning and trying to stay in my calories for the day.

Just feeling unsure about what to do, My husband thinks I look great the way I am so you wonder should i bother, I lost 5lbs fantastic , should I bother with the last 5 but im so afraid of getting it back.

Wow just unsure really , because i get bored like this morning and had crackers and peanut butter, then have to turn around and go crazy adjusting everything for the day again.

Sad when the family gets to eat snacks and things i would love , they dont mean to , the kids are 6 and 10 they are skinny bean poles who can have icecream after dinner, but starts to frustrate you when you want to, too. I then go to the computer and recalculate and figure how much exercise to get some too.

Having a twin sister who constently compares herself makes life hard too, you can see it daily when she looks at you to see hmm am i fatter then her what im wearing ect ect.
I know I should not worry about it, but it goes back to when we were kids there is usually the heavier one, that was me, and always compared that way. The only time I felt great was after she had children i was finally lighter then my sister ,but how selfish am i to think that way? Now its been a few years and we actaully weigh the same but my sister swears shes lighter...........:indifferent:

Anyway i guess really ,im mad at myself for eating crackers this morning instead of concentrating on my weight loss goals.

another day , another struggle it seems

Thanks for reading

Don't get discouraged. The last 5 to 10 pounds is the hardest weight to lose. In your case that's really all you're trying to lose so it's going to take a little longer :flowerforyou:

Hitting a plateau if you are doing everything right means your body has adjusted to what you're doing. You may need to do very different exercises, shake up your body in a way, so that it can lose again. You may need to eat more (of the right things). If you only have 20 pounds or less to lose, it is very hard for your body to do that, as it desperately wants to hold onto that fat.

It DOESN'T mean you have failed or are doing something wrong.

If it makes you feel bad when everyone else in the family is sitting around eating ice cream and you can't.. well, truthfully, the family can do without so that you can all enjoy a snack together. Popcorn, something else. They'll live. But if them eating things you can't makes it harder for you to diet, then them supporting you would mean you being able to get those things out of your house. It can be a once in a while treat for everyone. Or get yourself Skinny Cow or 100 calorie ice cream products and you eat those.

But don't lose heart. Maybe you need professional help in getting your body into losing again, say a trainer, or a new DVD of exercising that will push you again.

When I hit a plateau I re-vamp my exercise routine. And I make it tougher! That's usually enough to kick me off the plateau again.
  • Hi :flowerforyou:
I know how you feel. I lost 10 pounds quickly than it was a fight for the next few weeks to lose 1 pound.

I consider plateaus practice for maintaining your weight!

I have inspirational things taped on the wall behind my computer. One says: "One of the best ways to improve self esteem and to accomplish goals is simply to get a little better every day without thinking about what other people are doing. If you are always improving yourself, sooner or later you will become a person you can admire -- and others will admire you too!"

    and
    ANYWAY
People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
    Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
    Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
    Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
    Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
    Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
    Think big anyway.
People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
    Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
    Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have any way.
    ~ Kent Keith

I don't want to exercise and eat right somedays, but I do it any way.
