So i'm trying to cut back on carbohydrates. I'm consuming a lot of protien (meats) and vegetables (with fat and seasoning). will the amount of sodium i consume affect my weight loss efforts.

Usually not, because you'll reach a steady state of what is needed for the higher protein lower carb.

In fact, first few days on that diet will normally be a huge amount of water weight lost, don't let it fool you, because then you'll get discouraged when either some comes back from muscle gain, or isn't as fast as you continue.
