Fasting and energy levels

I am interested in hearing from people who have experience with intermittent fasting ....I am not attempting to fast at this time but sometimes I get very busy and don't eat enough ...I have noticed on days when I barely eat and go to the gym for some reason my energy level is higher and I am able to burn more calories....It makes no sense to me so I was wondering if anyone who fasts on purpose has experienced something similar and if there is a good reason or theory for this that I am missing.
Thanks in advance for any advice

One possibility would be that you're not spending any energy on digestion, so all your energy can be focused on the workout. If this seems more productive to you, go with it. Keep in mind, the intermittent fasters are still hitting their calorie target; they're just eating all their calories within a specific time window.0
