Hi
I just wanted to ask two things. should i try and make it up to the calorie target for the day or is it ok if i am under. below are the readouts for today. I dont think i want to eat more but is it going to a problem if i dont? will this somehow affect the weight loss/ muscle gain?
goal - 2090
food - 2185
exercise - 696
net = 1489
calories remaining = 601
Also silly question but my weight shoots all over the place, when i weigh myself, when is the best time to weigh myself every day?
Any help would be much appreciated

Hey there
Basically, if you don't eat close to your goal then you'll lose weight faster (maybe faster than you really want) and people will start throwing around comments about the dreaded "starvation mode". That one I'm not going to touch with a 10 foot pole. Anyway, I didn't eat all of my calories back in the begining and I lost weight without any problems. However, the closer I got to my goal, the more I started eating them back. My weight loss has slowed but I want to creep up on my goal so I get used to eating in a manner that will maintain my weight. Basically, I wouldn't eat that far below your goal all of the time but part of the time probably isn't going to do you any harm. Also, I wouldn't go below about 1500ish.That seems to be one of the numbers that's thrown around for a guys minimum calories.
As for the weighing yourself, I do it first thing in the morning after I've relieved myself completely naked. If anything changes in my routine then I don't bother. As long as your consistent then you'll be able to see your progress.

Hi There
Thanx for the advice. Im new to this. Just quit smoking a month ago. gave up coke completely and went down from 10 cups of coffee a day to 1 and been gyming 6 days a week for a month now. Feel great and can see a difference in tone but not on scale but i have read that is mostly down to building muscle vs burning fat.
Judging from todays calorie count i have actually been eating spot on for the last week (a few things i can drop though) like water with shakes instead of milk but i think i will try and hover around 1800 calories a day to avoid starvation mode or any other internet myth or fact. lol
This site is actually pretty amazing. Thanx for the advice! appreciate it!!0
