Thoughts on consuming protein powder vs "food" calories?

I'm looking to reduce my carbohydrate intake and up my protein intake for the next few months, and was wondering what effects on weight loss/muscle definition you may have noticed from replacing food calories with protein powder.
For example, is there any added benefit in subbing my breakfast yogurt for protein powder? I typically have 2 Plain Nonfat Greek Yogurts for breakfast each morning, at 90 cals and 15 g protein each. However, I just started to sub !00% natural whey protein for one of the yogurts (protein = 94 calories, 18g protein). Which option is better, in terms of weight loss/ muscle definition? Or is there no difference (or marginal)?

I don't think there's a big diff calorie or protein wise. You'd have to look at what other benefits the yorgut has and what other ingregients that protein powder has. ie.. extra BCAAs etc..0

As long as you are hitting your macronutrient/micronutrient/caloric goals, it won't matter a whit.0

It doesn't really make a difference really. But you should focus more on whole foods than crappy protein powder.

I haven't replaced anything with protein powders or any other supplements and have lost a total of 90lbs over the past several years. I try and make 1/2 of all my meals vegetables and fruit, focus on lean meats (fish, chicken, eggs, etc) and eat a moderate amount of grains (always whole grains or at least whole wheat when necessary).0

It probably doesn't make much of a difference. Yogurts *might* keep you full longer than the protein shake. Whey protein is the most commonly used protein in supplements because it's the most bioavailable. It's absorbed more quickly than other types of protein and is therefore ideal for post workout protein shakes. But once again, it probably doesn't make much difference.0 -
