I am home for the holidays and my mom is freaking out and I can feel myself wanting to emotionally eat. God.

First of all, my sympathies go out to you. My mother had to live with me for a while, and her extreme co-dependence caused me to eat all sorts of junk until her doctor finally convinced her to go into assisted living.
My advice is to make sure you have time away from your mother every day. Even thought you are only there for the holidays, try to get as much exercise as you can. If the weather is reasonable, you might want to walk or run, and many gyms offer day passes.
Good luck!0 -
Instead of eating exercise. Go walking, running, anything to keep food out of your mouth. Also drink lots of water. If you just gotta eat try gum or fruit. After a few days all mama's will bug you. LOL0

See if you can get a guest pass at a gym them there and work out your stress.0

You got this. Your mother does not dictate your eating habits. If you're stressed, go for a nice long run or something like that. I find that very relaxing. The important thing to remember is 1. everything you eat is within your control, so exercise that control, and 2. what goes into your mouth should be a reflection of your physical needs and not your emotional ones. Are you eating for your mother? Why give someone else that power? I am home for the holidays in a first class crazy home, so I get where you're coming from, but you have the ability to choose.0

this, couldnt agree more0 -
I seldom go home any longer to be exposed to all the toxic family insanity.
If it were me in your shoes, I'd pack my rags and leave, or just get a hotel.
When I must go back, it's nice having my own place to hide.0
