Making the Switch

Hi, I'm Marcelyn. I live in Texas and am 52 yrs old. Mom to four kids, all married so we have an empty nest... or kind of... every Sunday the entire family comes over and we have fun. We have an odd family.... we like each other! lol I have six grandkids on earth, one in heaven and on on the way (due in Feb 2012). I love reading, sewing and am a potter so I spend time sitting at a wheel playing in clay. I love traveling and have been several countries as well as most of the US states.
Weight: I've been losing weight for about two years now and have lost 50 pounds. I started out at 205 and am now down to 155. My goal is 145. I did most of it tracking and using Weight Watchers but have had fits with the last ten pounds since they changed their program. Their "free" foods add up and I've found MFP to be a more accurate picture of what I'm eating, even if it is healthy calories, it's still calories! My son got me started on MFP and I've seen him lose 30 pounds in about six months so I know it works.
Exercise: I work with a trainer two times a week and am actually quite strong. Seems my muscles remember all the years of farm labor I did growing up. lol I am also training for a half-marathon, my first one, which will be in Feb. of 2012. Unfortunately I still have not learned to love running. My joints just don't take to the pounding like younger joints do and the race will be all on concrete. Ugh. I am determined to finish it though!
Needs: Motivation to finish these last ten pounds!
