Okay, I did Plyometrics with my new HRM tonight, and my grand total for calories burned is... 762!!!
To say the least, I am soooooo happy that my hubby let me get this little gadget!!! And even though sometimes I did feel the chest strap shift a little, I think it's because I like to wear 2 bras when I'm working out... I LOVE Plyo, and it totally kicked my butt!!!
Glad you like you new HRM. Was the watch bulky? The F11 was huge for a females wrist. Also like I mentioned before that Polar makes a sports bra that the strap is attached. I just could not see spending another $30 in addition to the $150 I spent. Eveyone I know loves these watches. Maybe the one I got was just not for me. I am on a spending restriction as of today though. My hubby might be coming home early. Which is great but we were counting on the money. We would have had our creit card paid off and 7k for a vacation. Well that's not happening if the plans change. Also what is plyometrics? Do you do a workout video or an excercise class or something? I looked it up online and saw the gist of it.

Pep, you always have such a positive attitude, and that's one of the reasons why we lov' ya!!! I know you're going to do just great, because of how uplifting you always are... Keep on being a tortoise, I'll be right there with you!!!

awww your so sweet thank you i love all of you too :flowerforyou: i am the tortoise slow and steady.

so i am not sure really how it happend but my dad told me to go back on the scale tonight cause he (who is a doctor) thinks it was strange and he didnt believe i gained case he notices a huge difference. now i never do this i always do my weigh in on tues after my cardio and then thats it no more weighing until the following tues cause i dont want to make myself nuts but i was so upset this morning and after him talking me into it (which he never does) i weighed myself again tonight i figured how much worse could it get.

i lost 1.1 pounds since this morning :noway: (we have a brand new digital scale that i have been weighing myself on since the begining) i'm kind of in shock :noway: i mean i dont know if it was the walking around manhattan (very very lost) or what my parents think (i lost my water weight) but for whatever reason, i was blah blah 3.3 this morning and now i am blah blah 2.2

so 1.1 pounds lost and i am officially up to 8 pounds lost i can not believe it but i have to say this day ended much better than it began.

and even if the scale had stayed the same  or i had gained more weight since this morning   i would have been ok cause of all of your encouraging words and your support.

slow and steady wins the race right? i am the tortoise who just won a small (ok big) victory over the hare and for some odd reason i lost 1.1 pounds since this morning (although it has been 12 hours since i weighed myself could that really make a difference?)

    xoxo

Glad you saw the scale move. I would suggest though that you keep weighing in the morning. I would try and weigh right after you wake up and before you do your cardio. For me I wake up, go to the bathroom and weigh at 7:15 every morning. You also need to be consistant with what you wear and what time. Your weight fluctuates through out the day. I also wear nothing to weigh in because I want to make sure. Also not sure if you are eating you breakfast before you go and do your cardio and before you weigh but if so every little bit counts. I don't even drink any water before I weigh in. So next week maybe you should weigh before you do your cardio.
  • HEY HEY........get your own ideas! It's not cool to read someone else's post and just change a couple of words to make it look like you came up with it! You trying to steal my thoughts????????

Haha I must have been typing my responces at the same time as you! Great minds think alike! Funny thing is I typed mine and got off the computer to go get my daughter from school. I have also fluctuated in weight for avout 10 years. Hey do you do what ever that plyometrics is? I thought you posted about it before but maybe I am wrong.

  • Hey guys!! Sorry I haven't posted in a while... things have been a little crazy. I lost 2.4 more pounds  That is a total of 14 pounds since January!!! I haven't been exercising very much :grumble: but I plan to get back to my old routine.
Congrats to everyone loosing and maintaining their weight :drinker:
  • Yay Pep, good job!! I haven't forgot about you, I'll try to do a little research (I love to cook and find it easy to modify recipes so I'm trying to think of things to help in the food area). I just need to find a minute to sit down and do it!!

mom2one -- glad you're back. Everyone gets busy, just glad you checked in so we know you're still here is spirit at least! Way-ta-go on the 2.4 pounds!!!

Heck ya man, I always weigh in the morning. Pee, then weigh and hope for the best!! I agree cute new pic Christine.

Good morning, all!!! Christine, Plyometrics is "jump training", which means that for an hour you are doing all sorts of moves that incorperate jumping with squats, or lunges, or just about anything that you can imagine will kick your hinnie into shape... Boy did it wipe me out, but I'm really thankful that I play so much volleyball, otherwise I wouldn't have made it-when you play v.b., you're constantly in a "squat" position, and doing jumping constantly...

Hi all, well I bit the bullet and did my weigh in today. Up 2 lbs this week. I'm in the dumps big time which makes me think I'm pms-ing big time! I feel like giving up and eating everything in sight (but I won't). There's lots going on - money worries and other stuff. I'm around every day but don't feel like posting much so don't be surprised if you don't see me much.

    Oh well, life goes on...:indifferent:

Oh my gosh that would so kick my butt. That is kinda what I saw from a clip I watched on you tube. I just wasnt really sure. I think I will stick to what I am doing but I was amazed with the amount of calories you burned. I am interested to see how many you burn while playing volleyball.
  • Hey Christine...great pic of you!! Your hunny is going to have a hard time keeping his hands off you when he gets home!! CONGRATS!!
  • I just got done doing Plyometrics as well and I burned 720 calories, WOOT WOOT! I love my new hrm, I got the polar F4 and it does everything I need.

The chest strap didn't bother me much at all. I just tucked it under my sports bra and it didnt move a smidge. And the watch for the F4 is pretty small so it works out perfectly :drinker:

Having a good workout helped to get rid of my crankiness :noway:
    Missmez:
I know the last thing you want to do is workout but seriously it helped alot. Plus I plan on eating a piece of dark chocolate later to give me some added endorphens

I might have to look into the f4. I could get over the strap or maybe get the sports bra with it attached. Also I love to have some dark chocolate. I always keep the small dove dark chocolate candies. The serving is like 5 for 210 calories but I just have one and it hits the spot.

Thanks Everyone for the pic comments! I tried these pair of jeans on the other day. They were one of my fav's and I had bought them just before I found out I was prego. Anyway they fit great and I don't have a muffin top when I wear them. I was so excited and felt good about myself that day. Minus the fact I was breaking out. Anyway I took a picture. I am just amazed at the results in two months.

Missmez... If you can't vent a little on this post, then what's the point of having a support group?! I hope you have a better week...

Hopetobeinshape... I officially LOVE Plyo!!! I've read that other people can't stand it and found it to be waaayyyy too hard, but I had a blast!!! It definitely was the hardest workout that I've done from P90X, so far... And I'm glad to have someone to compare calories burned with!!! And about the HRM; are you going to wear it as a watch, or do you only use it when you are exercising? I don't know if I want to change out my regular watch for the F6, but I do really like it!!!

Christine... You are "MY HERO" for the progress you've made!!! It makes me want to take a picture and post it, too.... Maybe when I have a chance to actually fix my hair...

Whooop-whoooop!!! I am so happy for you, Ariella... It can be so heartbreaking to think you haven't made any progress when you have worked SO hard!!! I know you've been working your bootie off(literally), so even when the scale doesn't show a big difference, pay attention to your body shape and how your clothes fit.

I noticed that my wedding band is so loose on my finger that I can pull it off without any resistance. My watch band is also a lot looser on me than before-it used to be snug on my wrist!!! Little things like that make all the difference in the world!

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

omg thank you it was heartbreaking just cause it was two weeks in a row. now of course my dad goes today did u go on the scale i said no only once a week yesterday was an exception and thank god for that exception  i was so happy last night and today the biggest loser and all of you are the motivation i need cause i will win this race. jewlery loose feels great (i tried on my pants today and they fit im so happy i havent worn them in 2 years soon bikin (ok not really but hopefully by june ill feel comfortable in my body and a bathing suite)

I have battled weight loss for the past 10 years on and off. One thing I have always noticed, and I learned this from my dad who used to be pretty big into body building and fitness in general. You always want to weigh yourself first thing in the morning. I make sure I go to the restroom to get rid of a little extra water weight if you catch what I mean:laugh: . there is no doubt about it if you weigh yourself later in the day you WILL be heavier than normal. The same is absolutely true after a workout. when you do Cardio or Strength training you muscles are flexing and breaking down to try and repair what torture they just went through and your heart will be pumping more which puts your body's internals into overdrive. THIS WILL MAKE YOU HEAVIER! I Guarantee it! So everyone do yourself a favor and make your weigh in's first thing in the morning when you wake up. That is going to give you the truest weight.

i totally agree with weighing in early my problem is tues is the day i dont have to go to class until 3 which means i dont have to leave until 1:45 so i sleep late (im in class till nine dont get home until 10:30/10:45 so i dotn feel guilty. that does mean i weigh in a little later and yes i weigh in after my workout (my sick little head thinks it will make a huge difference yeah i know it doesnt do it that quickly although yesterday has completly thrown out every thing i think) i do go to the ladies room before and i do get on that scale in bra and undies (tmi??? ) to make sure i get the best number. but as long as im weighing in the same time every tues it shouldnt make a difference. but yes weight fluctuates during the day but going from .7 gain to about twelve hours later losing 1.1 i dont get it but im not complaining. but thanks jeremy i didnt realize weighing myself after working out may effect my weight by making me heavier jeeze so much to learn (but im triyng to teach this old dog new tricks so we shall see) im like a dogoise (dog tortoise  )

You know what you may want to do then. If you are up earlier on a Monday Morning or a Wednesday morning. I would consider switching you weigh day to a day you can be up early and weigh at the same time. I have noticed in the rare chance that I get to sleep in to like 8 am I am sometimes heavier. We wont mind if you post your weight a day before or a day after. It sounds like Tuesday's might not be the best day for you. Hey and where is your Mom this week? Did we scare her off?

You are all the best! I just woke up and the first thing I saw was all these comments about my picture. Yes I guess our group name really fit. Holy Crap I fit into the Pants! That was kinda my expression when I got them on. They had been in the bottom of my drawer since I had my baby 8 months ago. The only reason I tried them on is that one of my good pair of pants got a hole in them and I am to cheap to buy any new ones until all of mine are to big. So I tried on a bunch and about 4 pair I haven't worn in a year and a half fit! Now these are the smallest jeans that I have cause the lowest weight I have ever been was 189 which I am only 6 lbs away from. My new goal is 165 so I will have to invest in some new clothes in the near future. I hope to reach my goal by October. That is when my hubby was originally supposed to be home but it may be sooner than later! I am excited but I wanted to look even hotter for him. He doesn't care either way cause he thinks I am hot at my heaviest. Which I love in him. Well of to tend to a sick child and hoping that me and the baby don't get what ever it is.

Best wishes with your little one-I'll keep you all in my prayers.:flowerforyou: And I played Volleyball tonight-it was slow, and not very competitive... I only burned 973 calories in about 1 hour, 45 minutes... But that's wayyyy better than nothing!!! I'm really glad I got it, though, because MFP guesses that I'd burn over 1700 for 2 hours. Waaaayyyyy off!!! Good night, everyone, and I'll be sure to post tomorrow!!!

Just bumping us to the first page.
  • Well I think today is going to be the day that I can finally get back to working out. The last time I worked out was last thursday. I feel a lot better today as far as being sick goes. I'm going to give it a shot tonight when i get home from work. I've got my third weigh in tomorrow at work and i know i will be down at least 2 lbs from my last weigh i, I wish i was about 4 or 5 though. I just know if I coould have stayed on my workout routine last week instead of getting the flu I would have been able to do it...oh well! Hope everyone has a good day!
  • Hello everyone!
So this will be day 3 of my 30 day shred, and I woke up a wee bit sore, ok alot sore. Yesterday I did it twice, maybe that's why I'm sore? I like level 2 better than level 1, just cuz in level 1 I have to do all modified (easier for us weeeenies) moves, but in level 2 I can do some of both. I know doesn't make much sense to me either. I think I'll stick with 2 for a while and then go back to 1.
    Resa -- I miss volleyball. *envy*:grumble:
Jeremy -- chillax man, once you get back to it from being sick, I bet you'll pull a big number since your body will have to get used to it again. Still 2 pounds, nothing to shake a stick at.
Ariella -- what do you normally eat in a day?

Good morning, everyone!!! I am really feeling sore from playing volleyball yesterday, and doing plyometrics the day before!! The great news is my hubby said that he notices a HUGE change in my legs, so I guess I'm heading in the right direction!!!

Jeremy-I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better. Don't feel bad about taking a break-it sounds like that's exactly what your body needed while you were sick.

Christine-I stll cannot get over how different you look already!!! And your pic shows just how much confidence you have gained while you were losing the pounds!!!

i now know how it feels when i dont work out (although ive pushed myself and done it) so i know how you must be feeling to be able to do it again. dont push yourself too hard but im so happy your feeling better. take each pound you get as a victory (as long as its not a gain right? ) slow and steady remember stlow and steady wins the race be the tortoise jer be the tortoise. :glasses: i do get the wanting to lose more see a big number on the scale but i am learning.

kacee my daily meals....ok i can tell you what i ate yesterday if you want???
