yet another "exercise calories" topic...

so. i know theres probably several threads on this already, but i'm not finding it. 
anyway, i noticed this morning while i was logging my exercise, that MFP recommends i burn about 168 calories per day, 30 minutes with my exercise.
so, MY question is this.. i obviously would eat whatever calories i get from exercise (like you're supposed to, right?
) but now i'm wondering... if i burn more than just that 168 (cuz that doesnt seem like much at all, i like to burn around 400..) and eat my 400 exercise calories.. is this going to slow down the process?
rather than burning 168, eating those and having my 1200 for the day, i would be burning 400, eating those, and having my 1200 for the day. i hope i didnt confuse anyone?
but help/feedback would be appreciated! :blushing:

Yup always eat all your exercise calories. If you check reports you can see your net calories eaten for the day. It should add up to 1200 after you eat all your exercise calories and are done for the day. It hasn't really slowed the process down for me. Just sometimes I have a lot of extra calories at the end of the day and I struggle to always eat 1200. But eating all of them no matter what should be fine.0

i dont know how you guys have a problem eating 1200 cals. i have a problem staying UNDER. :grumble:0

shouldn't make a difference. Burning more is fine. If you stay within a reasonable calorie deficit then burn and eat however many you like. But lets all think about it logically. if you can eat 1200 a day normally, that means you can probably eat about 300 to 400 in one sitting and not accumulate much or any fat while eating them. But if you tack on 400 for exercise and then eat 1 bigger meal (like 800 or so) that doesn't mean your body can now eat 800 all at once and not store any.
Think about calories like the gasoline for a continuously running machine (cuz it is). The machine has a finite sized fuel tank, with a catch basin that holds any extra fuel that you pour in (body fat). If you think about it like that, it becomes much easier to see why eating large meals (even if you stay within your daily calorie alotment) is detrimental to burning fat.0
