What are you goals and what are your stats? What kind of exercising do you do and how active are you outside of the gym? Do you have any insulin related medical conditions that you are aware of?

These things are all relevant to your answer.
  • Increase that protien! I'd do 50/30/30 ratio.
  • My goals are to lose about 30 pounds. I am doing cardio 4 or 5 times a week and circuit training 2 or 3 times a week. Weight loss, toning. I'm not super active when I'm not working out. I'm unemployed and doing maybe housework every day. I do have a low thyroid that I am taking medication for. I do not have sugar issues.

    Wouldn't that bee 110? LOL

    Bahahaha.....yup. I think she means 40/30/30. That's what I do.

Some suggest NOT to use ratios.
I believe it goes like this: 1g protein for every lb of lean body mass; 0.35-0.45g fat for every lb of total body weight; fill in the rest with carbs.

^ Basically this, at least this would serve as a good starting point.

It totally depends on your goals. I am trying to lose fat while retaining muscle, so my percentages are slanted toward protein without getting nuts over it.

    Protein: 45%
    Fats: 25%
    Carb: 30%

I have lost over 65lbs, nearly 20% bodyfat, down from 46 pants to 34 - heading to 32, 13 more lbs to lose.
My results are beyond anything I thought possible early on.

For months I thought nothing would work or that I'd lose 25 lbs, get stalled or my bodyfat would not come down and on and on.....
I was so very negative and unmotivated until the results started to pile up.

    Good luck to you.

Those are my goals as well and I'm stalled. Thanks a lot!
