So, I've been off and on dieting and exercising for a few months now, and I saw a recommendation for this on facebook. I'm officially starting today.
I'd like to be really fit but have never quite gotten there. I got pretty close once but then I went for my Master's and a combination of food (it was in Scotland and Poland so it was tasty but not healthy lol), schoolwork (writing my thesis was where I really got off track), and coming back home (you can't get key lime pie abroad and do you have any idea how tasty that stuff is?!?! ) and I found myself off track again. Now it's time to really get back, lose the extra weight, and get my fitness seriously going.
I've been on and off, though, for a couple reasons. One is that running is hard and that's been the most accessible form of exercise for me. The second is that I haven't really had anyone motivating me and, while I can lose the first couple pounds relatively painlessly and then lose interest and motivation. So I'm here! I'd like to lose, well I'm not really sure how much I have to lose. When I say 50 pounds, people think that's insane, but that's what my scale says. At any rate, I just want to be fit, strong, toned, and have a lot of endurance in the activities I do (that last goal should be pretty straightforward).
Hmm a little about me: I live in Colorado, love music, have a freelance writing job and am looking for my first really professional job. This fitness thing is part of a whole thing of polishing up all parts of my life, improving at things I want to be better at or stop being rusty at, and working toward various goals. I've always found running awful (though it's been the most accessible form of exercise for a while now), but I really like walking, hiking, skiing, etcetera.
