I ran out the door this morning and forgot my lunch! I bought a little handi-vac with the quart sized bags and put all my dry salad mixings (broccoli, mushrooms, cauliflower, ect...) in the bags in serving size and got carried away with how nifty that thing worked, that I stuck them all in the fridge and then forgot to bring one to work with me! By the way, it sucks the life out of those bags making it vaccum sealed air-tight!! Anyway, it's lunch time now and here I sit wishing for that salad :ohwell:
What are you having for lunch?

Oven roasted chicken quesadilla on whole wheat flour tortillas. Can't wait for lunch
  • It's not quite lunch time here. I had breakfast not long ago, but I was too lazy to make a real breakfast...I ate a cheese stick and carrots.

Where did you get that handy van-pac thing??

I got it at Walmart in the ziplock bag section. It came with 3 bags and batteries and I just bought extra bags, but the little gadget was only $7!!!

I was wondering if that handi vac thing really worked. I wil have to get me one now!

I am having a grilled chicken santa fe salad from Sonic w/light ranch dressing (1/2 package only) and an unsweet iced tea(no sweetener at all). I HAVE to have tea when I eat a meal. I'll drink water in between.

on sunday i made garden-style lasagna from cookinglight.com. i froze the serving sized portions and brought it for lunch. i also brought 4 oz of chicken and had a 100 calorie chips ahoy pack (not the norm, but i saw them and of course wanted them...).

I have one of these as well. They work pretty good. You can also open a bag and then reseal it and suck the air back out. So you can keep stuff fresh even if you have to go into it several times. Plus the suction cup part comes off so you can wash it if you suck liquids into the tip.

I just came from the grocery store, so my lunch was a bit late., but now FINALLY I understand what all the fuss if about hummus, hummus is YUMmus!
I got a cayenne flavor that really packs some heat, and it doesn't taste like beans at all! I've been so skeptical, but I was soooo hungry while shopping I went for it, and glad I did!!
So, I had crackers with hummus so far for lunch!

I had a salad, too, with a 1/2 cup mound of chicken salad on top. I used this really great dressing, made by Maple Grove Farms, it's a sesame ginger and only has 40 calories per 2 TBSPs.

It was Birthday day at work though, and I had a piece of cake earlier. :embarassed:
  • Lunch today was a whole wheat pita with tomato basil hummus and a Morningstar Farms veggie pizza burger. I swear that is my new favorite sandwich!! YUMMY.
