Winter Solstice starts the zombie apocalypse

So, Thursday is the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. Then the earth's northern hemisphere is supposed to start tilting back towards the sun and the days start getting longer.... unless the Mayans were right. Then I predict that the earth will continue rotate away from the sun, eventually reversing its axis and ultimately leading to a zombie apocalypse in Dec 2012.
