New Year New Start! Request for support!

I know there's still almost two weeks of this year to go, but my attempts at weight-loss this year have been so unsuccessful I am already writing this year off and planning ahead to next year!

To be fair to myself, this year has seen my go to hell and back; I've got out of a very bad relationship, and a very bad job, both of which left me with depression which resulted, first of all, in me not being interested in how I looked for a long time, replaced by a feeling of lethargy induced by medication. My problems are now behind me, but I have still been struggling to get back into regular exercise and sensible eating.

So, in this run-up to Christmas, I'm king of putting everything on hold, having three evenings of relaxation instead fo rushing to the gym after work, then I'm away between Christmas and New Year, and before 1st January, I shall draw up my weight-loss plans for the year; at the moment I feel like any thing I do is a waste of time, but once Christmas and New Year are out of the way, I won't have any excuses! I intend to sign up for a short (5k) race of some kind to give myself a small goal.

I could seriously do with some support to keep me on the straight and narrow, so if anyone is also looking to restart their fitness campaign in earnest on 1 Jan, get in touch :)
