I just wanted to say that if there are people out that that suffer from IBS maybe you should give this a try. About 2 months ago I was getting those stupid pains in my left side (not the real bad spasms) but they would stay there all day and it would nag me. No clue why but I decided to try "kinda" fasting...and I FEEL SOOO MUCH BETTER!. This is what I have been doing..wake up and eat a jimmydean D-Light breakfast sandwish (about 230ish calories) at 7:30am..then for the next eight hrs I eat a little bit of fruit and veggies..Today will be a pear, apple, and like 12 cherry tomatoes. Then when I get home just whatever I want for dinner ( nothing crazy)..I have got my spasms maybe twice which is INCREDIBLE! and it wokrs fine for me.

Give this a try if you suffer from these pains..I understand how hard it can be!!

Anyone else have any suggestions about what has helped them control their IBS???

Technically I'm a Celiac, but I have a lot of symptoms that fit under IBS. Maybe I will try that! I feel so much better when I don't eat, but then I feel dizzy if I don't eat for 6+hrs so "kinda fasting" may work! I'll give it a go and get back to you :) I'm glad you found something that is making you feel better!!!
  • Same here. I hate that I feel better when I don't eat, but I am the same way, get dizzy and obviously hunger pains. This seems like a nice medium! I hope this helps you out! Definetly let me know :)

My pain can come as early as the first meal of the day or just from water. I not only get pain, but extreme fullness where there are days I can't even drink anything as I'm so incredibly full even though I haven't had anything to eat.

My pain can also come from the first meal of the day but I have found that if I eat the sandwich or fruit it rarely happens. I feel your pain though because I know how the pains can come for so reason. Before I went to the gastroogist and got perscribed medication for the spasms I missed so much work it was horrible, but I honestly couldn't work through the pain! Water has never given me pains so that must be awful!

I had suffered from IBS for over 10 years, but I found once I joined this website and started eating clean (no processed foods, no fats, nothing high cal), now everything has disappeared!! And I know it is junk food that did it to me as last week I ate loads of crap at our Xmas work party, and I was so ill on the way home, as all Id eaten was high fat, high calorie rubbish. Makes me remember not to gorge on terrible food..
  • ^^ Yes! I am the same way..it was a coworkers birthday and they had cake. Well i decided to have a small piece and once it settled in my stomach the pains came. I was so mad because I had eaten clean all day up until that point and that one thing did it for me! Junk food is the devil haha.
