Hello Everyone.
My Name is Megan and I weight 244 Pounds... last weigh in.

This is the heaviest I've ever been!! :(

I had a bad breakup last September and after a 20lb weight loss I gained it ALL back and then some..
Since then things have been up and down. My mind has gone back and fourth from "I'm not worth it" mode to "I need to change, let's do this!" mode.. needless to say, it's exhausting!!

I am planning a trip of a lifetime.. for me at least. I will be going to Ireland, Scotland and England in October of 2012 to celebrate my 27th Birthday! I want to celebrate me and my life while there! I want it to be an Amazing time, one I won't forget or regret. Many many pictures will be taken afterall.

So, here I am... 10 months in advance, in the middle of the Holidays, but here none the less.

I've tried Weight Watchers the past few months and never stuck to it... maybe this will be different!? I sure hope so. I need something to stick.. I need that positive change and to see the results so I stick with this New Life!

Thanks for reading and if you're in the same boat, please send me a message. I know we all could use the support!! I'd love a "buddy" to help me on this journey.

~Megan

here are a few tips that I found to work for me:
    1. Make MFP your home page
    2. Log in EVERYDAY, read the message boards post.. Keep your mind actively thinking about it.
    3. Don't try to change too much at once, Implement 1 change every week or so. Little tweeks over time seem to work best or at least better than butt load of change all at once
    4. Always be honest. We al fall on our way to the top, be honest, no one is judging you here... we all support eachother
    5. Keep trying new things until you find what works for you (It took me a while to find my plan and it works great for me but I wouldn't push it on anyone else)
    6. Its easier to lift weights than the burdens of carrying weight.
    7. take it one day at a time.
    8. Have a cheat day or meal, where you eat what you want
    9. Try to talk to yourself as if you are talking to your child or loved one. Often times the thing we need most is to be a better friend to ourselves.
    10. Smile.

    Best Advice E.V.E.R.!!

Feel free to add me as a friend.

Oh...and here's another reason you're going to want to get in shape...You'll likely be doing A LOT of walking (I did when I went to Germany). Best of luck on your jouney and let me know how I can help you!

    ^^^agreed!
  • You are beautiful! Every time you feel like you've "failed" just remember that. Finding that tiny ounce of motivation is what helps me the most when I feel discouraged. Feel free to add me!
  • I hear ya! Have a positive attitude to start off your diet.. When you come across bad foods think to yourself " If i dont eat this, think of the positive out come in the long run" Good luck! :D

A year from now you can still be here, or you can be the person you want to be. Start now. Get up and go for a walk.

I agree with what the others said. The most important thing for me was to hold myself accountable for whatever and how much ever I ate regardless of how bad it was. Before I did this I would be under for 6 days, and then totally undo all I did in one binge day. Now I've lost some additional weight. MFP is awesome because it's not a diet, you can eat what you want and lose weight. My husband recently started MFP, put in 1/2lb per week, and has lost 18 in 3 weeks, just eating less and not exercising. It does work!! Good luck and add me if you want more support :)
