I have strep and double ear infection. I am soooooo sick:sick:

I went to the doctor today and we talked about weight loss.

I asked her since I was eating healthier, why was I getting sick, that I thought eating healthy meant feeling better. Well, she proceeded to tell me that my body was detoxifying and I would probably be sick more.....UGH:grumble: :grumble: :grumble:

Are any of you battling the same thing or if she just full of crap and I just ran into a bug?

I dont want to be sick more. She told me when I got through this part of my weight loss, I would feel ALOT better than I did before. Again, is she right????

Thanks for your input ya'll....You guys are sooooo shmart:wink::wink:   !!!!!!!!!!

Well when I detoxed I only had vomiting, diahrrrea, bad headaches and body aches like when you have a stomach virus..................

Are you getting enough Vitamin C???

Also, I take Echinachea and Golden Seal Root along with Vitamin C to help boost my immune system.................

I find now that I get sick a lot less than before. I use to get sick every few months and now I get a minor cold maybe twice a year --- knock on wood. And I find if I force myself to work out when I am sick, that I get better a lot quicker.

Maybe it is different if you are detoxifying. My manager Ange was telling me that the first time she did a cleanse she had a headache for 5 days, likely due to he body's addiction to caffene, salt and sugar.

I never had that problem, and my doc never said anything like that. You could probably use some vitamin D. It's something that your body produces when exposed to direct sun light, and this time of the year it's almost impossible to get enough direct sun light if you live north of Atlanta, GA (I didn't look where your from, sorry). I've read several articles this winter about how vitamin D will help your immune system.

I am no medical doctor by any means, but logic and reasoning I am capable of. That does not sound particulary right. Strep is caused by the bacteria streptococcus and ear infections are caused by a bacteria as well......more than likely the same bacteria that caused your ear infection. That should have nothing at all to do with your nutrition. That really is the craziest thing I have ever heard!:noway:

My advice would be to make sure you get plenty of Vitamin C and keep eating healthy.

Never had a problem here.....seems I am feeling 200% better since I started eating better and working out. I did have a tummy ache in the beginning and learned it was from using muscle groups that had been sleeping for a few years.

    Hope you feel better. :flowerforyou:

But, it helped in a way too cuz' my body was reset on foods. I was able to start eating better more.

Your Vitamin D theory is a good one, I am from sunny california and we have been rainy the last couple weeks, if I see a peek of sun at all during the day I am out in it! Feels great....even 15 mins of it.....motivates for my workout.

You won't feel better while you're losing weight. Just as people often feel hungry and grumpy when they are in the process of losing weight, they can also make their immune system more susceptible - particularly if you're cutting corners on vitamins and minerals.

Your body is metabolizing itself. It's distracting. Your immune system has to work harder. So when you do catch a bug, it might take you longer to get better while you're losing weight than if you weren't trying to lose weight.

The health problems that go away when you lose weight are cardiovascular. As far as communicable diseases are concerned, you won't be any less susceptible when you're thinner. In fact, you may be more susceptible if being thinner means you participate in more activities that put you in contact with others (and germs).
  • I hope its just a bug...

    feel better!
