hey all! i'm training for the warrior dash (i'm at about a 10-min mile comfortably right now) in may and i've got some questions for all you lovers-of-running:

1. how long did it take you to LOVE  OMG  running? i find myself looking forward to my short-ish runs mostly because i feel awesome AFTERwards. during....yeah it still sucks.

2. i bought nice running shoes properly fitted and all. do runners wear their running shoes (mine are saucony hurricanes) when doing other exercise? Say, a workout video or an elliptical machine?

cheers! :drinker:

I have only been running since August. But I love it. I look forward to my next run (I run every other day) and like to plan my routes, etc... I am actually excited to run.

I only wear my running shoes for running unless I am breaking a new pair in. Then I wear them for a couple of days before I run.

I started running just for the Warrior Dash, and grew to love it. I started to really enjoy it around the time I started racing. Passing people feels amazing. :blushing: Plus, prior to racing, most of my running was on a treadmill, which is never fun or exhilarating. That was about three months into running.

Some days, though, I hate it with every fiber of my being and that stupid little voice in my head tells me, "QUIT!"

As far as shoes, my good running shoes feel so damn good that I wear them most of the time no matter what I'm doing. If I know I'm not going to run, I might wear my older shoes to the gym.

    1) I loved running about the 2-3rd month I started. I realized how great of an exercise and there is so much more like races and warrior dash type events, that you can join.

    2) I got the perfect fitted shoes that helps with my pronation. Yes I wear my running shoes as much as possible.

I just started running December 8th with the couch to 5k program and I got so into the program, that rather then do it only 3 days a week I have done it 6 days a week and I am up to running 8 minutes at a time from only 1 minute at time when I started. I am still in a love hate relationship with running, but every time I run longer then I every thought I could I fall a little more in love with it.

I wear my running shoes for every thing because I love them so much. I have K-Swiss Blade Max Trail shoes and they are so comfortable that I can't help but wear them.

I have been running since June and have done 2 5ks so far. Most days I look forward to running and enjoy it while I'm running, but there are still times when it's a chore (if I'm especially tired or improperly fueled). I always feel great afterwards--even if it's a particularly bad run.

I usually only wear my running shoes to walk/run with my dog or to the gym. I have other "fashion" sneakers that I wear when I'm just out and about so I don't wear down the arch support in my good trainers. They're so damn expensive, I like to make them last.
