Tex-Mex Turkey Spinach Burgers
Here is a very yummy recipe if you are craving burgers.
6 nuggets of Europes Best Chefs Spinach Frozen
750g (1 1/2lb) ground turkey or lean ground beef
1 egg
175ml (3/4 cup) fresh bread crumbs
45ml (3tbsp) chopped fresh cilantro or parsley
2 green onions, chopped
75ml(1/3 cup) tomato salsa or ketchup
5ml (1tsp) dried oregano flakes
2ml (1/2 tsp) smoked paprika, ground cumin or chili powder
5ml (1tsp) salt
1ml (1 tsp pepper)
15ml (1tbsp) vegetable oil
Topping:
125ml (1/2cup) grated monterey jack or cheddar cheese
50ml (1/4 cup) tomato salsa
Directions
1. cook europes best spinach according to package directions. Drain and squeeze out excess moisture. cool slightly
2. In a mixing bowl, cumbine turkey, cooked spinach, egg, bread crumbs, cilantro, onions, salsa, oregano, paprika, salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly. Shape mixture into six patties
3. In a large non-stick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add burgers cooks for 15 minutes turning twice. A few minutes before end of cooking top each burger with cheese and spoonful of salsa.
I cook the burgers either on the bbq or my grill. so i dont have to use the oil.
