So i just looked at the Warrior Dash website and I'm considering entering for 3/31/12 in North Florida. For those of you who have competed in this event in the past.....suggestions:
1. What should I wear? (Pants, boots, exercise/workout clothing)
2. Gloves vs no gloves
Any other suggestions or things i should know, bring or do to prepare?

wear something you plan on throwing away. I wore shorts, t'shirt, and old shoes. I donate my shoes afterwards. Some people say wear cleats, I do fine without them. Glove's, you'll probably lose in the mud. It is a blast I cannot wait till next year0

Close-fitting clothes are best. Baggy shorts will weigh a million pounds when they're coated in mud. I ran in a kilt and bikini. The kilt was falling down in the final sprint! My brother wore gloves, but the rest of us were fine without them, and you'd think his daughter and baby sis would have more girlie hands than he has. I donated my shoes, which were beat up hiking boots that I took on a trial run on trails before to make sure they were ok enough to run in.
My knees took the worst beating of all.
And I can't WAIT to do it again!0 -
Im scared of Warrior dashes and mud runs! Leaves too much room for injury! But I bet its fun as hell!!!!0

I've done three this year and I signed up for two for next year. They are a blast! I would suggest you wear something you don't mind throwing away.
Also, you can toss your shoes and many do, but I keep my shoes since I run multiple ones, but I advise you to duct tape them to your feet. My brother lost a pair at the last mud run.
Shorts or shorter pants are best since the mud pulls pan legs down and can either lead to pants-on-the-ground syndrome or you just end up stomping all over the bottoms of them.
Hats are cool but not essential. Expect cuts and bruises and just have fun!
Hope you have a great run!0
