Waking up is the hardest part...

I'm a 34yo man who fell into the trap of eating bad and taking a desk job out of high school.
In high school I was a very active person and I believe I can be again.

I've been lingering around MFP for quite awhile, but haven't had a successful Summer or Fall.

I haven't introduced myself, nor have I added or searched for a support team.

The depression has to stop (as do my bad eating habits).

I'm finally on the right track and I need some friends to be here with me on this journey.

    Hi,

It looks like you have the right attitude now! Just keep feeding off of that.
Everything will fall into place, just as it always does.
Remember to take it one day at a time. Maybe you could start just logging food, or just logging exercise. Until things get familiar, it will seem like a horrible task, but before you know it it all becomes second nature!

Best of luck to you...Add me if you'd like!

I have not been doing my best lately. I was very motivated up to a point, then lately...nothing. Sometimes we fall in a rut, could be depression or laziness or life getting in the way.

I don't know how much support I could offer right now, but add if you like. There is a handy, dandy delete button if you later find it doesn't work out.

I hope things start looking up soon for you.

Yes, the desk job is difficult. I had one for years. Some people in my current office set a goal to walk 500 miles a year. They let their boss know their goal, talk about it, etc. Also, about twice a day, they put on their sneakers, and assertively and proudly walk out that door to get in a half mile (1-0 min) or a mile, talking all the while about their goals. OK, after typing this I am motivated to do my upper body routine and log the exercise and get the calorie benefits. Thanks and GB
