    any natural hair divas here?

What does that mean? You don't shave, don't wear extensions or a wig???

Ok correct me if I am wrong but I believe African American hair tends to be frizzy so many people put a "backwards" perm in it to relax the hair, which can damage it. So I guess natural would be the way it comes out of your head, no chemical relaxers to make it straight.
  • Another natural checking in! It's been 1 1/2 years for me. :)
  • Natural my whole life. (:

Hmmm, well now I'm curious. I'm tempted to say I've been natural my whole life, but I did have dread extensions... but I had real dreadss underneath.... And I have pressed my hair a handful of times... But no perms ever. So, like 90% natural my whole life? Haha...

I got my locks about 5 years ago I had just turned 19 and wanted a change. I love my hair, but the down side of it is that I am from charleston south carolina and I am proud to say I am very country so people always ask me if I am from "the island"!! lol I don't take offensive, it makes me giggle everytime! I am curently living in japan and japanese people are NOT use to see locs at all. When we carried our kids this past summer to Tokyo Disney they kept touching my hair and asking to take pictures with me! LOL But then again I swear on life we were the only black people in a WHOLE disney land theme park!!! People where just taking pictues of us! LOL and smh....Sorry I got off topic. lol

I wash, condition and cut my hair. That's it. Don't even bother with a blow dryer.

I spent 30 years dying my hair various shades of blonde but 5 years ago I decided to grow it out and stay natural and I am, complete with white streak which I didn't know I had until I started growing it out!! Lol!!

Me me! I am a newbie. But 9 months without a relaxer. I did a mini chop and will do another one when I take my singles down. I keep my hair either braided, in kinky twist or I do a two strand twist out

Natural over here!!! Been natural completely since 2008 and loving every moment of it. I am using this year as a year if growth. No more blonde just keeping a nice chocolate and going to see how long it will get. I have a couple of more trims to get rid of the twice damaged blonde ends and then I am ready to achieve maximum growth. Good luck to all on your journeys and add me if you like. ---Stay Natural :flowerforyou:

I love my natural hair. It is thick and curly. I decided when I was pregnant with my last child in 2007 to not go back to relaxers and I haven't. I have also decided not to relax my three year olds hair and my 15 year old is now natural as well. I still love to straighten my hair out but I am tired of the chemicals. I really don't need them. I have a new love for natural hair and I won't go back.
