I just had to share this as I'm still laughing my *kitten* of about this. My brother in law asked me for the recipe below. I sent it to him weeks ago and last night I get the following message:

"My dough turned out super dry, is the coffee brewed or grounds? Seems like there's a liquid that’s either missing or lacking."

I shared this with my husband and he said when he made them years ago he also put in a cup of coffee grounds. OMG I about pee'd my pants. I mean seriously, coffee grounds!? MEN!!!!!

PEPPER NUTS
350o 30-45 min.
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 t. anise seed (crushed
1 c. Karo syrup
1 c. coffee
4-6 c. sifted flour

Blend all ingredients. Add flour to make stiff. (Refrigerate dough -- makes it easier to work with.) Make into a long roll and cut into small nuts and bake.

Lol, it's cute they're baking, albeit, not well!

I was at my friend's house while she and her husband were making a pie. As she was measuring the lemon juice into a small measuring cup he says "That's not an accurate measurement because you are using the powder measuring cup and not the liquid one" I have never laughed so hard. He was more than a little pissed at us and swore he would never help her again.
