today makes me three days into my water fast, eating apples-three so far and almonds at intervals-2 tsp @ snack, 2 @ lunch.......i did my first ever flush this morning at 5:00 a.m....the things that came out of my body...UNMENTIONABLE :embarassed: ...and here i was thinking i was healthy but i feel really energized and light...my fast will end saturday
@ 12:00 p.m. I'm considering doing the flush up to friday/saturday....

just wondering if this is healthy....how long is the recommended period for the flush

Your body cleans itself out. It works best if you feed it a diet with plenty of fiber (hence your grandmother's obsession with prunes) and drink plenty of clear liquids, but it pretty much works on its own. There is no real evidence that cleanses or "flushes" are necessary or even beneficial. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_cleansing

Also, if you're eating apples and almonds (or anything else) you're not fasting.

Cleanses and flushes are a useless waste of time. If you aren't eating, of course you're lighter, there's no food in your system.
