i assume that my diet is pretty good, i am usually either just under my calorie allowance and i excercise 5 out of 7 days, walking every day as well, the complete daily diary says if i ate like this everyday my weight would be..... which every day is lower, there shoudl be a weekly one of these too as i am not going down is weight or measurements! i must be going wrong somewhere. i know i have a cheat day, but that day keeps me sane! can anyone help. i only need to lose about 3kg.

    Hi,

i hear ya loud and clear!! My "your weight would be..." is always going down, but it doesn't match my body. That is normal to me- as I know that losing weight can't be just whatever some calculation says- we are human, after all.
I guess there are few things to think about here:

    - are you gaining weight (if not, that's great, but you might need to tweak a few things)?
    - is it near the time of the month (that tends to change everything)?
    - are you retaining water (too much sodium in your diet)?
    - are your calories being too restricted (did you set yourself up to lose too many pounds per week)?
    - are you losing any inches (remember muscles don't weigh more than fat)?
    - do you weigh yourself everyday (i pick one day a week only, and do it around the same time every week)?
    - are you focusing on quality foods (you might be under your calories but are you eating fruits, veggies, lean proteins, and whole grains)?

Anyway, start with this...and let me know how it goes. I'd love to hear back from you...add me!

Yep, some good things to consider. Just remember that the last little bit is always the hardest to remove (or so I've been told, cant wait to get there and find out for myself!). Don't set your calorie defecit to large, 1lb ber week max.

There are a number of things people have tried to shift the last bit of weight, carb cycling, zig-zagging calories. Have a look at the exercise you are doing too. You might have a little bit more weight to lose, but if you do some weight training you might be more happy with your overall body composition... just a thought.

Allow others to view your diary and you may get more imput. Just a thought.

I second the weight training recommendations. Also, if you make your diary viewable, you might get more specific feedback and ideas.
  • Stop paying attention to the part that says "in 5 weeks your weight would be...". It is simply a guideline and does not mean that in 5 weeks, you'll weigh that much. It is designed to calculate your weight in 5 weeks if you ate EXACTLY like you did on any given day. I found myself obsessed with checking where my weight would be in 5 weeks after completing a daily diary entry...so I've since quit "completing" my diary so I don't see that...and just make sure I record every thing that I eat...and every exercise I do. I'm down 4 pounds since I quit obsessing over completing daily diaries.

    Good luck.
  • Sometimes our bodies don't want to lose weight and they hit a plateau and can't go any further. The cause of this is the body adjusting to the change and slowing down your weight loss manually. I lose about 10 pounds before I hit mine and had to come up with a different way to lose weight. And then I came across http://boyels.com and read my first review on a program that was going to change my life. I started losing about 3 pounds a week and still use it today 87 pounds lighter and with a visible 4pack of abs (working on the 6 pack lol). Anyways you just got to remember not to give up and stick with it and only success waits because while others sleep, we are running.
