Question about air popped popcorn?

I'm very confused. I know there is about 30 calories in a cup of air popped popcorn.
But does that mean the cup of KERNELS to pop the popcorn?
Or AFTER the popcorn is popped, one cup of that is 30 calories?

    That is a fully popped measurement. I have to rant about something about popcorn, i had been eating tons of popcorn because when I scanned it on MFP (Kroger 94% fatfree popcorn in a bag, not air popped) it said 75 calories per popped bag, and it became my night time snack. I actually did the math on the box one day, because I never measured the actual bag and who cares how many calories unpopped popcorn is, and it turns out 1 popped bag is 218 calories! A big difference, especially if I would eat 2 bags a day, which I sometimes did. Just wanted to share!

    30 calories per popped cup.

    I have a popcorn maker, so I buy the kernels separately, there isn't any bag or anything.
