What were we eating!?!

I did this lil' exercise when I first started losing weight in August. This was before MFP, I had just started adjusting my diet, and I am still making vast improvements to my 1510 daily calorie intake. I looked up the calories and total fat of some of my frequent lunches and/or dinners at fast food places. Here's what I was putting into my body DAILY, can you believe it!?!

Wendy's

Asiago Ranch Chicken Club, large fries, large coke, medium frosty

Total Calories: 1870

Total Fat: 72 grams

Taco Bell

Cheese quesadilla, bean burrito, large root beer, cinnamon twists

Total Calories: 1450

Total Fat: 45 grams

Del Taco

Two steak tacos del carbon, medium chili cheese fries, large coke

Total Calories: 1550

Total Fat: 51 grams

This is just three of the places I would go. Two of these meals are more than my current daily calorie allotment, and one of which is just on the cusp. And this is just one meal in the day! Add on my morning (sugary) coffee and biscotti and/or coffee cake and a generous dinner, and we're talking two days worth of calories in one! It's no wonder I gained so much weight!

So please share! What were YOU eating before MFP, and, holy cow, can you believe it?

Sweet smell of accountability! I love it! I didn't really have any meals like that, but I have cut back on wings considerably since the time I logged them

Cheesecake Factory: Farfalle with Chicken and Roasted Garlic

2190 calories, 58g in saturated fat, who knows how much in total fat.

Add some slices of their free bread (around 400 calories total? plus 100 more for butter), 730 calories for fresh strawberry cheesecake, and you have a single meal consisting of over 3,000 calories.

And I'm short and spent most of my time on a chair or in a bed. No wonder I got fat!

My favorite fast food meal, which I had at least twice a week was from Jack in the Box and consisted of:

Sirloin Cheeseburger: 943 calories, 65g fat (or if I was feeling "healthier" - - the Spicy Chicken for 528 calories & 19g fat)
Large Curly Fries: 584 calories, 34g fat
Oreo Cookie Ice Cream Shake: 812 calories, 43g fat

And then sometimes I would even split an order of egg rolls for another 221 calories and 11g of fat!

That's 2560 calories in one sitting! Holy *kitten*! :noway: Thank god I was about 18-20 years old when I did this, I know for a fact my fact teenage metabolism saved me from getting even bigger than my highest of around 170.

This was one of my favorites -- a KFC Original Recipe four piece meal:

    Wing, 140
    Breast, 320
    Drumstick, 120
    Thigh, 220
    Biscuit, 180
    Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, 130
    Baked Beans, 200

Total calories for one meal (not including a drink, which was usually Pepsi back in the day): 1,310, only 90 calories less than my current daily allowance, nearly 60 grams of fat and heaven knows how much sodium! :headdesk:

Well I am unsure how much of what I was eating but I will give as best of a run down as I can using the MFP database to count the calorie intake!

I think my meal for one day would look something like this - I only ate 2 or 3 times a day, so I'll take the latter and write 3 meals that may have been consistent pre-dieting:

    Meal 1:
    Bowel of coco-pops
    Full-cream milk

Calories 175 per 30g serving (I probably had 60-90g servings so 350-525 calories)

    Meal 2:
    Pizza or KFC

    Pizza:
    - Ham and pineapple pizza x4 slices
    Calories 800
    - Supreme Pizza x3 slices
    Calories 870

    Total: 1670 calories

    KFC
    - Zinger Burger
    Calories 468
    - Large chips
    Calories 574
    - Potato and Gravy
    Calories 120

    Total: 1162 calories

Then my last meal would look something like this

    Meal 3:
Now I really LOVE pasta and I would go all out eating it - so

Lasagna - about half the dish
    Calories:1520

Total calories for the day: 4352 calories

    Fluids:
Can of Coke anywhere from 6-8
    140 per can // 840-1120

    Total Calories incl fluids: 5192 - 5472

    Weight at this time: 108.95KG

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

And yesterdays calorie intake according to this site was

    calories: 1860 calories
    Made up from

    Protein: 239g
    Carbohydrates: 158g
    Fats: 52g

Recommended intake for the day was
    Calories: 2,416
    Carbohydrates:333
    Fats: 79
    Protein: 91

    Current weight: 93.50kg

Usually I don't have such high levels of fat in my diet, but I've taken 3 weeks off my dieting to kind of 'stay' at my current weight but will resume lower fats/carbs when I get back into dieting after christmas!

Every time I used to go to the mall, I'd get poutine from New York Fries. I never knew the calorie count until now!
    calories: 950.
    fat: 50g
    sodium: 1320!

I used to hit Starbucks in the same day too. My usual was a grande white chocolate mocha.
    calories: 470 w/ whip
    fat: 18g

that adds up my current daily intake! holy cats!

This was a regular (once or twice a week) nighttime SNACK for me when I was Biggie Smallz

    Dunkin Donuts

Iced Latte with Whole Milk Medium (I actually had it with CREAM and sugar! - like being made of milk wasn't enough)
320 calories (without the addition of cream)

    Pumpkin Muffin 1 Muffin
    600 calories

That's a 930 calorie snack - at least, but probably more like 1000 because I used cream instead of whole milk.

My favorite meal ever at Red Robin (ugh, I'm drooling thinking about it lol. What is wrong with me? :p)

A Bonzai burger with a boca pattie had 852 calories.. and with a side of steak fries it totals to 1286 calories in one meal! (and that's if I didn't have 1, or 2 more orders of fries.)

Hmmm, trying to think back to my biggest (155kg / 300 lbs or so) I ate a LOT of crap food and nothing really stands out except I remember I used to order (late at night, as a SNACK) an entire meatlovers pizza to myself, a garlic bread and 1.25 litre coke

    So I did the math

    1 meatlovers pizza = 1336 calories, 136g carbohydrate, 56g fat

    1 garlic bread = 640 calories, 96g carbohydrate, 24g fat

    1 1.25L coke = 516 calories

    Total = 2492 calories

I cannot believe that, I have come a long way!

In college I used to sit and eat a whole bag of doritos while I studied. 1800 calories, 96 grams of fat.... holy crap. and that's how I ended up weighing over 300 pounds.

oh boy, I did the Doritos thing last month, my cheese-burnt fingers taunted my with guilt for a week.

A staple meal of my previous life:

    Davanni's
whole club on wheat, no tomt, no onion, no oil = 992 cals, 54g fat
half garlic cheese bread on white w/sauce cup = 458cals 26g fat
    brownie = 268 cals 8g fat
    medium = coke 280cals
drum roll please: 1998 cals 88g fat

oh and throw on another 50 cals for the 2nd sauce cup that I always asked for, had to sauce up the sandwich not just the cheese bread. sheesh

About 1,500 calories of Chinese just for dinner every other day haha.

It's crazy when you look back at the crap you used to consume every day!

I've been on MFP for 13 days and on target or under everyday. Tonight I thought about getting take out. I always picked "small" meals when visiting Burger King (Hungry Jacks) - Whopper Junior, Regular Fries and diet coke. When I checked out the calories I was stunned. 355 + 337 = 692

Came home and made an omelette instead!
