I thought I loved working out, but I've got nothing on you! :) Listen to your body, if it starts to get tired of what you're doing it's time to cut back.

The cardio you're doing isn't a super high intensity, but you could probably cut it down to 30 minutes and bring up your speed. Realistically unless you are training for distance races you don't need to do that much cardio.

How long have you been doing this workout regimen? Be sure to give yourself a rest day. If your muscles never have time to heal it will eventually lead to injury.

I started training (stable cardio regiment) about 4 months ago, but lifting weights about 1 month ago starting with only 5lb weights working my way up to 30lb weights now.

For some reason I feel that riding the stationary bike or going for a walk, or even playing tennis is rest to me. I just don't feel stress on my body at all and feel so wonderful and euphoric afterwards.

My be my body isn't ready for me to focus on building muscle at this time, and in stead I should be focusing on body conditioning and toning.

Should I change my goal to body conditioning and toning would I still need to adjust my workout routine?

I think you should decide what you want your body to look like and structure your training to achieve this.

Alternatively, if you absolutely love cardio (and it sounds like you do) then you could just keep doing it realizing that you may not end up with exactly what you want but you can probably get close to it.

I often wonder what the right ratio to cardio/strength training is as well, I have been at this a little over 3 years now, and am plateauing btwn 157-165. I know I need to do more HIIT, but also, I have been allowing myself to eat a little less healthier than I should be.

I do 45 mins cardio MWF and 20 min cardio, 30 mins weights T-Th,Sat..

I want to get to 140, and am uber annoyed that my scale/inches haven't really moved to significantly since last May.

Thank you for you responses and advice :) I decided to decrease my cardio by 30 to 40 min/day and continue with my eating habits the way they are. I hope to be able to increase my lean body mass by making this change. In those extra 30 to 45 min I will be on the sewing machine mending some of my beautiful big clothes :) Have a great day and stay healthy

Sounds great. :) If you are loving the biking and everything go for it, just listen to your body. You are doing a fantastic job. I do short interval training style workouts. Maybe try one of those every once in a while, just to mix things up for your body. :)
