I feel like even though I am staying under my calorie goal I am still eating all the wrong things this week. In the past 2 months I have been so dedicated to eating healthy and this week I have let myself down. I am using the Holiday season as an excuse and am so mad at myself for doing that!! Uggghhh I absolutely love this time of year, but find myself looking forward to January to get myself back on track! Anybody else out there feel the same way???

Oh boy do I feel the same way! I don't want to see another cookie or candy cane! I am so mad at myself as well! Can't wait for it to be over. I am not good at savoring sweets they just fall into my mouth!! Not eat a bite and wrap it back up! I can't do it LOL0

Definately feel the same way.
I was soooo good and then messed up late at night.
Next door to this healthy restaurant is the most unhealthiest store....CRUMBS bake shop.
So I go in there and order a cupcake...
Before I leave I have ingested two.
Walk towards the train and see another cupcake place...ate TWO more pieces of cake.
My excuse? It's Christmas!! If I keep eating like this, I will not resemble my pic anymore..
I sometimes wish Christmas was over and I really don't want to feel that way. But yes, like you, looking forward to Jan.0 -
I feel the same way as you all through I am glad I am not into sweets so the cakes, candy and such doesn't bother me. Unless someone brings over a cheese cake then I'm in trouble....lol I am not in a rush for it to be over I guess b/c my kids are small and I am enjoying seeing them enjoy christmas. This is the first year my daughter understands what is going on. She is 2 soon to be 3 in March and my son just turned 1 on the 20th. ANYWAY.....You have to remember to stick to your goals. My thing is this if you know you are not to the point where you can have one and be done then don't eat any at all. That way you don't even have that sweet taste in your mouth.0

That's why I feel guilty for wishing xmas was over. It's great watching my son get so excited...and here I am secretly depressed because I ingested some calorie bombs. I want to fully enjoy the xmas experience with him but I am letting a cupcake dictate my happiness!
I have a fitness contest I want to start training for in Jan as well as try to improve my pullups and situps. Maybe I should stop thinking that's for Jan and start geting my act together now.
you are so right about the fact that if I know I can't stop at one treat, best not to have one at all. Going to try my best to follow that way of thinking and eating(or shall I say not eating!)

I totally understand, I've been eating so much garbage and then I just won't eat healthier things so I stay within my goal. I wish the holidays would be over so people stop bringing junk into work. I am fine when I'm home, since I have no junk in the house, but work I am awful. I seem to have no willpower right now.0

Thankfully i have willpower.
Read, my brain just wont LET me eat too much! EVERYTHING "bad" i eat is preceded in my head with "Is this worth the calories?".
Wonder if i will have the willpower to quit smoking when the time comes...?0 -

Holidays aren't an "excuse." It's that time of year to stuff your face and not feel bad about it. Then you make a New Year's resolution to eat better and exercise. That's how everyone does it, don't feel bad. :bigsmile:0

My goal for the next couple of weeks is to just maintain my current weight. Then I will get back to the losing stage. I like to enjoy the special treats of the holiday and refuse to make myself feel awful about it. However, I do try and be smart about it. I indulge in the things that aren't around all year. Unheathly treats that I can have any time of the year.. those get passed over without a thought. I do try to eat more veggies during this time of year and try to always have fruit with me. That way when I see something that really gets my attention, I have some and move on.0
