Hello...finally getting back my motivation!

I am 29 (30 next month!) and currently weigh 187. I've been using MFP for over a year, but pretty sporadically. I'm trying to keep myself motivated and hopefully being active on the message boards will help out! I workout, but again it's pretty random and I'm hoping to get more steady and actually lose some weight!
My goal weight is 150, though as I get to that weight I might decide to try for 140. It's been so long since I've been that small that I feel like I would look too skinny! My short-term goal is to lose 5 pounds each month and to work out consistently 5 days a week. I just want to be healthy and feel comfortable in my body!

I recommend taking some time to do the activity in my will power blog. it will help you sustain motivation. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/H_Factor/view/recipe-for-a-will-power-pill-for-help-with-the-mental-part-of-the-journey-155978
Also, I strongly recommend coming up with some nutrition-related goals (i.e., log your food daily and aim for the MFP target each day) because nutrition is more essential to fat loss than exercise is. Exercise has other benefits and is important, but you need to get the nutrition right if you want to lose fat.0 -

Thanks for the welcome!
H_Factor, thanks for the link to your blog. I will definitely check that out. And you are right, nutrition is a huge part of weight loss/healthy lifestyle. I definitely struggle with that but I do track my calories/nutrition and try to stay at 1600 each day. I used to restrict myself to 1200 or 1300 but I always felt like I was starving and if I went over I felt like I failed. So I'm hoping 1600 is more realistic and attainable for me! For my goals, MFP has suggest 1600, so I feel good about this number!0 -
