Something Funny Happened to Me Yesterday

Every once in awhile, my boss buys us all bagels for breakfast. Yesterday, she did, and I decided...why not? I took a honey wheat one (250 calories) and low-fat honey almond cream cheese (eek...like 170 calories but sooo good), and I really enjoyed all those carbs with my breakfast.

I had a good, healthy lunch full of veggies and around like 2pm I started going nuts. My body was craving something, but I could not figure out what it was. I mean I was frantic for SOMEthing.

Finally, my boss said simply "protein" and provided me with hummus and pretzel chips (she's the best). After about 5 minutes, I felt fine! I realized it was because I'm used to my oatmeal in the morning for breakfast. I have the Quaker Weight Control which has more protein (and is really yummy). But yesterday morning, all I had was carbs and fat!

Isn't it funny how our bodies get used to something, and if you don't get your body what it needs, it really can throw your chemistry way off?

Haha! It was soooo good. And low fat! Got it from Manhattan Bagel (which by the way does not make bagels like they do in Manhattan!)
