Hey guys, Im starting a new eating guide, simply called Healthy & Tasty. Before I go into to much detail, I want to explain a few things. This guide is for people like me, single (or dating), cooking for 1 or 2 people, on a low budget, looking for high taste, and low calorie ideas. These are all meals anyone can make, some are a bit more difficult. Im going to try to give you guys a little insight onto what I eat, and hopefully it will give you some good ideas for some healthy food ideas. I decided to start with something basic, infact, it was my breakfast this morning!
Name: Hungry Jack Buttermilk Pancakes
Serving Size: 3 pancakes
Calories - 150 calories
Cook Time: 15 min
Wanna know the secret to making tasty delicious pancakes? OPEN THE BOX AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS! Ok Ill be honest, homemade are great, but there is nothing wrong with just making it from the box. You can make yourself 3 pancakes for 150 calories. Not to bad right? These taste amazing, and all you need is a skillet. A stove top or electric work just fine.
I realize most of you have probably had/made mix pancakes, but I think many people dont realize (with the right portion) they can be pretty healthy. Consider this, a bagel, without cream cheese, butter, or anything on it, can be nearly 300 calories. On the other hand, 3 pancakes is half of that.
One thing to note is these are 4inch pancakes. These are not the full skillet pancakes that you would get at IHOP. Remember, its about taste and portion control. I suggest making these then taking them to go, because then you are less tempted to binge on them.
NOTE: The ones that are pictured have chocolate chips in them. The chocolate chips will make them significantly unhealthier. I made these for my girlfriend, because she hardly needs to worry about her weight
