Body Investments

I was just curious if anyone else does this....
I don't have any children at home and I think a lot of my weight issues came simply from being bored. I would sit at home during the day, nowhere to go, and I would stuff myself with worthless calories!
In an odd way my weight loss journey began with a box of crest white strips. I dedicated myself to 30 minutes, twice a day for two weeks. After my two weeks were up I started getting a ton of compliments on my teeth and how white they were and how beautiful my smile was etc. This really opened my world up to, what I call, "Body Investments." The weight loss came because I was addicted to the change and the comments. It was pretty much an epiphany that if I could make one positive change about my body then I could certainly make others and fill the "boredom" in the process.
Some of my other Body Investments:
Tanning (I'm sure I'll get yelled at for this one) , Self Manicures, Self Pedicures, Massages, Facials...
Does anyone else do this or am I crazy? lol

I keep saying one day... but I've never had a massage, manicure... anything at all. It is hard for me to even get a haircut, lol! I just can't imagine spending money on myself for something like that. I've given gifts for those types of things so I invest in other people
I do spend far too much for a gym membership, though, and take advantage of their steam rooms and such, so I suppose that could count.0 -
I certainly never thought I was doing this, but did I ever say you have amazingly white teeth. I guess my whole weightloss has been my addiction after the comments come rolling in about how good I look. Some might say I have exercise anorexia, but *kitten* it beats the hell out of the crack cocaine.0

Hah you're too funny! And thank you for the white teeth comment I guess my whole point of this thread was weight loss isn't just a physical change. I feel like when I add in these "Body Investments" it makes the weight loss a total package kinda thing. Haha! I have so many thoughts in my head that I'm trying to say but none of them are coming out like I want... And yes, crack is whack! lol0 -
for sure that's valid. thank you for sharing !0

I had a goal with the reward of a massage...met it one week early so I bought a living social cert for massage and facial for $39. DEFINITELY worth it.
Btw, I agree with the tanning!!!! I like it..I know its bad, but I do like it. SORRY PEOPLE!0 -
Great post, I have noticed myself doing similar things not really as rewards but just in general. I now get my haircut every two weeks, I started the white strips after my dentist appointment last week and have been getting a weekly massage.
The owner/founder of my company, who normally is distracted by his mind going a million different directions, actually paid me a heck of a compliment today about how he can really see that I have lost a lot of weight.
And all the little comments help keep me motivated to spend time busting my *kitten* in the gym and tracking what I eat, so I can catch up to my boy, Jay!0 -

Well Ray, your push is what keeps motivating me to continue. So catch me if you can. I am afraid I will not know when to stop. I will look like a broom soon.0 -
Besides my hair, I don't really do much. I started doing my manicures at home b/c its relaxing to me. But I will definitely be investing in some Crest White strips!
Thx for a great post!0 -
