Just being plain greedy.

Hi

I am 22 years old, 5"2 and at the beginning of 2011 I tipped the scales at 11st. Since April I had lost around 2st and reached my target weight of 9st in August.

Since then I have been trying to keep a balance, and up until a couple of months ago had stayed at a steady weight of 9st 1. but now it's all creeping back on and I'm back to 9st 5.

My problem is that I am completely greedy. I get up, I'm hungry, i have toast, I get into work and *then* have breakfast, by then I am thinking about my next snack and by 10am I have eaten three times. I then make myself wait until the grand time of 12pm to have lunch, and I just try to stick the rest of the time out until dinner because I've run out of food haha. I've also started drinking again, which is obviously a massive part of the problem, but I have already started to cut down again.

Anyway, I need advice. My problem is that I am completely greedy - I try to eat healthily and I do during the week, I always get my five a day (mainly because I eat so much) and I exercise regularly. I am now as of today (two days before Xmas) going to force myself to be reasonable and eat just three healthy meals a day like normal, but I just seem to be so hungry all the time.

Has anyone got any tips for me? I'm not looking for a quick fix, I need to change my attitude. Has anyone done this successfully where they've gone from a similar situation to be able to gain a healthier attitude to food and to eat sensibly?

How many calories do you eat per day? If you're at goal weight you eat more to maintain.

Perhaps instead of eating so often (not that there's anything wrong with that) you can eat more filling things? Toast by itself isn't filling, especially if it's white bread. What about eggs on wholemeal toast, or something different?

when i am always hungry i make sure to eat enough fruits and veggies and drink lots of water and that always does the trick. being prepared is the key. write down what you are eating for the entire day first off and stick to it. if it is the correct calorie count for you and you are eating healthy foods you shouldnt be too hungry. only every three or four hours at most. good luck!
