I'm from the "old school" SNL days, so when I do watch and there's something particularly funny, it's a good thing :)

My husbands family is big SNL old school. We used to visit his moms and watch reruns all the time. His favorites were the thoughtful moments. It kinda took a turn for the worst after Chris Farley. Rest in peace. He was such a blessing in laughter.

Deep thoughts by Jack Handy were also a favorite.

    OMG, Deep Thoughts ...............so fun!

"The first thing was, I learned to forgive myself. Then I told myself, 'Go ahead, do whatever you want, it's ok by me.'"
    Jack Handey

"Fear can sometimes be a useful emotion. For instance, let's say you're an astronaut on the moon and you fear your partner has been turned into Dracula. Next time he goes out for the moon pieces, wham! You just slam the door behind him and blast off. He might call you on the radio and say he's not Dracula, but you just say, 'Think again, batman.'"
    Jack Handey

I hope that someday we will be able to put away our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people.
    Jack Handey

If you ever drop your keys into a river of molten lava, let'em go, because, man, they're gone.
    Jack Handey

If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.
    Jack Handey

Anything Gilda Radner did was awesome, too...........................the newer years of SNL just don't have the same flair, but at times they ALMOST make it. Justin Timberlake is great fun when he's on.

My husband stated," Because their not all coked up and hopped up on speed and heroin." as he giggled and yes my husband giggles.

     My son saw the video while I was watching it and he reminded me about the time (years ago) when he wanted an Evanescence cd for Christmas. I had told him after Christmas that I had told some woman at the store I was looking for the Effervescent cd and the woman knew what I was talking about.
