Who doesn’t love ice cream?? This recipe will have you never setting foot in another ice cream shop again! It is a zero carb, sugar free, protein ice cream recipe made from the most delicious cookies and cream protein powder and unsweetened almond milk. This ice cream is ready in less than 10 minutes and requires only 3 ingredients and no freezing time!
Once again…the key to this ice cream tasting so good is the Nitro-Pro cookie and cream protein powder! No….I do not work for them but it is the best protein I have EVER had! I highly recommend it! Not only are the nutritional facts outstanding….the taste is AMAZING!! If you notice, I usually use PureVia or some sort of sweetener in many of my dessert recipes but this one doesn’t even need it!

    Ingredients:
1 Scoop Nitro-Pro Cookies and Cream Protein (the link to purchase the protein can be found at the end of the post)
    1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
1/2 Cup Salt (no this doesnt go into the ice cream lol)
    Ice

    IMG_0427.jpg

    Directions:

    1. Mix the protein powder and almond milk in a small ziplock bag and seal

    2. Fill a gallon size ziplock bag 1/3 of the way with ice

    3. Put the sealed small bag with the protein and almond milk inside of the larger one and add the salt to the large bag with ice

    IMG_0428.jpg

    4. Seal the large bag and shake for 5 minutes (if you shake too much longer the ice cream will freeze more and you’ll have to let it sit longer)

    IMG_0429.jpg

    5. Let sit for 3 minutes in the ice

    IMG_0430.jpg

    6. Remove the small baggy from the larger one, scoop out the ice cream and enjoy!

I make a slushie in my blender that is almost like ice cream. One scoop protein powder, one cup water, a cup or two of frozen fruit (I use mixed fruit I buy at Walmart..a mix of peaches, strawberries, mango and pineapple). Put enough frozen fruit in to make it thick. It's almost like ice cream but not as creamy. If I used milk I think it would be. It's low cal and I get in servings of fruit. It helps to satisfy my ice cream craving.

You are awesome. That is all.

Edited to add, can you make a bigger batch and just keep it frozen in a container? Of course, shaking it for a few minutes every time you want a scoop would make you think about whether you really need a treat. Haha

Also, I would just like to say... 97 pounds?!?! Holy crap, man! You're a machine!

Thanks I don't see why you couldn't make larger batches. I used an ice cream maker and ill try to put some in the freezer to see how it holds up!

Yay. Considering I don't even own protein powder yet (I know, I'm such a noob), I'm glad you're experimenting for me.

anyone made it and actually taste good? why almond milk? why kosher salt?
  • I've tried making ice cream using that ziploc method before, turned out a little icy/watery but still wasn't too bad! Will have to try it with protein powder. Thanks for sharing! :3

I've made it twice now. I prefer it with vanilla soy milk to be honest. The salt is only needed if you do zip lock bag method and you can use rock salt as well just most people use kosher salt and have it in their homes already.
