How often do you have a cheat meal or cheat day? Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a cheat day once a week where I allow myself to eat the amount my body normally burns in a day (2000 calories). I feel like it helps keep plateau's at bay because I switch it up once in a while. I also pick a day or two where I go over my calorie count by 100-200. Still creating a deficit but not as strict.0

I never have a "cheat" anything if you mean not logging. I log everything I eat, but I eat what I want and am not always the healthiest eater. I think it is OK to have a cheat meal once or twice a week, as long as you take responsibility for what you're eating, and still meet your weekly goals. Just remember never to deprive yourself or you will most likely not stick with it. If you want something, eat it in moderation, and then burn it off.0

I used to have a cheat day once or twice a month when I was still trying to lose. Now it's like every weekend...which will change after Christmas and New Years. I had to go down below my maintenance during the week to make up for the weekends...
Sorry, that probably doesn't help...lol0 -
When I was cutting I would take 1 cheat day per week and I wouldn't log it. I would estimate that my intake was between maintenance and 500 kcal surplus. (And even though I wasn't logging, my intent was to land somewhere in this range, on average. If I were eating 5k over maintenance it would have harmed my progress and would be counterproductive).
Cheat "meal" is basically meaningless only because you either hit your end of day targets (success!) or you go over, at which point it's a cheat day.0 -
No more than once weekly but as long as I can go without one. If I do cheat, it's early in the day and only one meal. I have gone as long as 7 weeks without a cheat meal. For me, it became a mental thing more than anything. I needed the break from clean eating more than I craved the bad food.0

I find that I can maintain a satisfactory rate of weight loss and still go hog-wild one day a week. Having one day for off starches and sugar makes the other six of the week entirely bearable for me.0

I don't really eat much on an average day; a small breakfast, then after I workout, a pretty normal lunch.
From about noon on, I only drink a smoothie at work. So up until then I only really eat 2/3-3/4 or my days calories.
So whenever I get home, I usually eat something naughty.

According to my Body Media account, I make Friday's my overfeed day.0
