ive been struggling with temptation for a while now. i'll lose 5 pounds and gain 2 back.

my family is quite gluttonous and probably could stand to put down the pizza but they refuse. and thats their personal preference.

the problem comes in when they bring home one of my ex-favorite fatty, sugary, salty, starchy foods. at that point... health food and weight loss doesnt seem too appealing.

so my question is, how do you guys deal with temptation?

Leave the room. Find something that mimics the unhealthy stuff but is good for you and eat that. If it's something you can eat without going off the deep end, have a little bit. If it makes you throw your hands up and just go hog wild, don't even taste it.

My husband brings home doughnuts every single Saturday. I love doughnuts but I know if I eat just one -even if I have room in my calories, I will crave sugar the rest of the day so I just don't eat them.

You have to make the decision for what YOU want. There will always be foods that aren't good for you that tempt you. Heck, our library is between the grocery store (where I swear they pipe the smell of the fried chicken into the air around the store!) and a Wendy's. It smells divine there! I just don't give in. I'd rather save my treat calories for when I really want them and I'd rather be healthy and look good.

Sadly, there is no easy way around it, it's willpower and what you want. Good luck!

When the food comes in the house, that's the time for you to put your sneakers on and go for a long walk or jog. Take a big container of water with you and sip continuously. When youj're done, have a small sampling of your favorite food if you're still tempted. If you know you can't stop with just a little, forego it completely. keep your fridge stocked with fresh veggies and fruits to munch on while the family is pigging out on the garbage.
